quick question

Can any brit readers out there help me out?

How easy or difficult is it to get from Gatwick airport to Heathrow?
If I had 1 night and 1 day to spend in London, where should I stay and what should I do?
Have you been to Dublin?
Did you enjoy it?

Nina, there is a bus shuttle from Gatwick to Heathrow. I was on it a good few years ago. Let me check it out and get back to you.

www.tripadvisor.com is fab for hotels, depending on your budget. If you want cheap, there is Travelodge and Premier Travelinn.

Dublin is fantastic and definitely worth a visit. Again use tripadvisor for hotel recpmmendations. Are you going to be visiting us here in dear old Blighty???

These will give you a bit of a start. It was definitely the National Express service we used to transfer between Gatwick and Heathrow. Cheap and efficient.

Nina it depends on what time of the day. If it's during rush hour the traffic is shitty on the M25. At other times of day it's absolutely fine.

So much to do in so little time - for me I would do a lot of walking. Start in Trafalgar Square, walk down to the river, along the embankment to the Houses of Parliament, down further to Tate Britain to see the Turners, then maybe turn around and walk back along the river to the National Theatre, the Saatchi Gallery, and then to Tate Modern. Then walk over the milennium bridge to St Pauls and climb the stairs to the whispering gallery....

Actually you should probably only go in one direction as that's probably too much for a day.

Dublin is lovely although it rains a lot. The traffic is DIABOLICAL though so make sure you don't try to get into town from the airport during rush hour. It takes HOURS.
